This originally white iconic Olivetti Valentine typewriter was designed in the 1960's is known by collectors for it's unique design and shape. This typewriter is a design made by Ettore Sottsass and Perry King for Olivetti to compete with the cheaper typewriters from Japan. The Olivetti Valentine is a popular machine among collectors. However, most of them are made red. The white / grey Olivetti Valentine is a rare typewriter.
When writing with this typewriter it is very easy to switch from black to red and vice versa.

The typewriter has a size of 33 x 35 x 12 cm and it weighs only 4 kgs. It's shape and design in combination with it's weight make this a very portable and easy to go typewriter.

A mechanic typewriter Olivetti Valentine designed by Ettore Sottsass and Perry King. Valentine was designed in 1969 and is probably one of the most famous Olivetti’s models. At the time, the authors were forced to compete with inexpensive typewriters coming from Japan, after consideration of the possible economical compromises they decided to design a bold and original piece. They created a simple, portable machine with many hidden details. It was designed, as the authors advertise, for work in any place except in an office.
The machine is made of shiny white plastic, while the case has a matte texture. It has a very simple shape with a floating front bar and interestingly visible ink ribbon reels highlighted by the orange colour. Although the design became notoriously famous, the production was not a big sales success, therefore it has became a sought for piece on the market, especially any other color than the red Olivetti Valentine.
